The 40-year-old goalkeeper said, “I just wanted to let you all know that I have decided to retire from professional football, yeah, I know, again. I think the timing is right, I feel sometimes you just have to be honest with yourself, brutally honest with yourself, and just admit you can’t really do what you used to do and it is a shame but I think being 40 years old it’s kind of expected as well.”
